While attending his high school, Light Yagami discovers a peculiar notebook that claims to claim the life of anyone whose name and face are known to its owner. He initially dismissed this so-called “Death Note”, but decides to take it home as it is interesting to him.

After testing this notebooks powers, he discovers that these claims are indeed real. The original owner of this notebook, a Shinigami named Ryuk, approaches light and explains that the notebook now belongs to him. With Light as the new owner, what will he decide to do with this newfound power?
