Episode 26: Renewal

The first half of the episode features L narrating the events of the first 25 episodes. The account of the Kira case is revealed to have been left behind by L as a record of his achievements as a detective.

It is deleted by Light when he discovers it. The investigation team appoints Light as L's successor and agrees to not publicly announce L's death. Light resumes his executions with a vengeance.
